Traditional exercise programs work on “up-training”, increased sympathetic dominance and sympathetic drive can last hours after workouts or remain at this new, higher output level. There needs to be a balance that inhibits sympathetic drive and allows rest and recuperation of the body to proceed. In biofeedback, this is termed “down-training”. Restoring balance to this feedback loop system is the way to restore balance within the body.
