All private, hands-on sessions are an educational process to help you develop greater internal sensing of your body and reawaken your muscular control. It is recommended that you commit to four sessions and reevaluate your program as you progress. Also, twice a year it is recommended to have a tune up visit with your practitioner for continued improvement. The goal is to move you toward your own self-care program. Each session typically lasts between 60-75 minutes depending upon your needs. You will be guided through a series of gentle, slow moving, coordinated movement patterns that are tailored for your specific needs that relax and lengthen muscles, strengthen weaker ones, reduce overall body stress, and improve coordination.

You will be guided through a series of gentle, slow moving, coordinated movement patterns that are tailored for your specific needs that relax and lengthen muscles, strengthen weaker ones, reduce overall body stress, and improve coordination.

Unlike other body work, you are fully clothed during HSE sessions. It is suggested that you wear loose, comfortable, non-restrictive clothing for ease of movement and be prepared to remove all shoes, jewelry, belts, and pocket items. Sessions start with an intake of your history and current complaint, and an observation of your standing posture and specific movement patterns.

During the session you will be guided through a series of safe, slow, and gentle movements designed to reverse pain, relax and lengthen muscles, and create an overall ease to your movements. The assisted movements known as “pandiculations” (muscular contraction followed by slow elongation) are very subtle; yet powerful in bringing about greater balance to your muscles, improving joint mobility, and efficiency of movement.

At the end of each session, you will be taught some movement patterns to be performed at home as your Daily Hanna Somatic Essentials (DHSE).
